Working in the print industry for six years I first started as print operator working night shifts. Having experience in different departments helped get me where I am today. I’ve been a structural designer now four years and for the first time I enjoy coming to work every day. Working in the company of good people in a job I didn’t even know existed when I started my journey.

Working at McGowans has been a truly rewarding experience. From the moment I joined the team, I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel like a valued member of the company. The culture is supportive and collaborative, where everyone is encouraged to share their ideas and bring them to life.

One of the aspects I enjoy most about my work is the development of captivating point of sale and packaging projects. Getting to work so closely to both clients and the internal teams on literally “making ideas happen” it’s a collaborative role where every aspect of the business gets involved, no day is the same and long may it continue.

Hi, my name is Darren Hodgins. I am a driver here in Mc Gowans. I have worked here a number of years now and have to say working with the people here makes coming to work enjoyable. It can be pressured sometimes but this is the benchmark Mc Gowans set in order to keep our valued customers satisfied. This is what sets us apart from our competitors in my opinion.

I joined the Team in McGowans print in 2017 as a prepress operator. I have always found the company open to allow and encourage personal development into other areas of the business. With the support of all of the Management in the company I have taken up positions in I.T., Automation and Software Development. To me this is one of the many special qualities of the McGowans management team. Special mention to the quality prepress team I have the pleasure to work with on a daily basis.

I have been part of the McGowans team since 2015, having now over 20 years experience in the design industry. Since joining I have been given the opportunity to develop my creative skills more so than ever before. I’ve worked at McGowans Print since November 1994. The best thing about working for McGowans for so long has been watching the company grow, through constant investment and belief in the latest digital technologies. A growth that started with our first Indigo right up to our first Landa. Mal McGowan has always been the front runner with the newest digital machinery and has a belief in his staff to get the best out of these machines. Making a journey like this keeps you very interested in what you are doing and challenges your printing skills along the way. That is what I enjoy most and makes coming to work a lot easier.
